panasonic dbs, panasonic dbs 824, dbs 824, dbs 824 telephone system The Clear Solution For Your Telecommunications Needs - The Panasonic DBS is a KEY/PBX telephone system that delivers the sophisticated technology and connectivity you need for advanced telecommunications. Designed for small to medium sized business applications, the DBS provides reliable, durable, and user-friendly telephone system with a dynamic array of features and services for all your business needs.

The DBS is designed to grow with your business, offering seamless expansion capabilities for both software compatibility and hardware connectivity. Configurable for systems ranging from 1 to 192 ports, the DBS alleviates growing pains by making the number of ports transparent to the user, while maintaining the highest levels of performance and cost-efficiency. It also supports several layers of open architecture for future software-driven applications.

In addition to being one of the most advanced business telephone systems in the world, the DBS is also one of the easiest to install and configure. The DBS connects easily to almost any type of telephone line offered by your local telephone company.

Panasonic Technology For the DBS

The DBS system uses state-of-the-art, PCM Time Divison Switching Technology to deliver a wide variety of critically-acclaimed digital telephones.

  • The extremely attractive DBS large-screen display telephone was the first of its kind in the industry, and is designed to provide a whole new level of user-friendly features and options.
  • New version of the DBS LCD telephones are capable of displaying a different set of executable features each time the status of the telephone changes (for example, from an idle state to an on-line state), transforming the telephone into a device that not only meets your needs, but anticipates them as well.
  • With the exception of Panasonic's Digital Single Line telephones, all other DBS digital propriety telephone sets are equipped with Hands-Free Answerback circuitry for intercom calls. When an internal caller intercoms your telephone, there is no need to pick up the handset. Just speak, and the built-in microphone transmits your voice to the internal caller. Some sets are also equipped with speakerphones for hands-free conversation during outside calls.

System Capacities

The Panasonic DBS can be configured in systems ranging from 1 to 192 ports. Four different sizes are available:

  • For smaller businesses, the DBS 824 system can handle up to 24 stations, and up to 8 Central Office (CO) lines. CO lines provide access to the Local Telephone Company or Common Carrier.
  • Larger environments are supported by the DBS 40, DBS 72, and DBS 96 cabinets (40-port, 72-port, and 96-port, respectively). Any two cabinets can be combined, providing a range from 1 to 144 stations and 1 to 64 CO lines.
For added flexibility, the DBS 824 can also be connected to a DBS 40, 72, or 96. A fully expanded DBS system is accomplished by combining two 96-port cabinets together. This creates a 192-port system.

Peripheral Devices

Although the DBS offers many technologically advanced features, it also has the remarkable abiliity to fit right into your present business environment.

  • The DBS allows for connection of analog devices such as facsimile, answering machines, and cordless telephones.
  • Voice mail and Auto-Attendant can easily blend with the DBS. Use Panasonic's DBS PanaVOICE digital voice messaging system, or choose from any number of voice mail manufacturers.
  • Attach a printer to the built-in Station Message Detail Recorder (SMDR) port to record call information, or attach a peripheral call accounting system to further detail your call information.
  • Plug in your favorite music source for playing background music over the speakers of your digital telephones. Attach a separate source for Music-On-Hold.
  • Take advantage of the DBS's built-in paging port by attaching an external, amplified speaker for normal paging or ring-over-paging. Install door phones and a door-opener-control to screen and control your remote door entrances.
