This amplifier is designed for people with moderate to profound hearing loss or need to concentrate on their customers' needs. The HA-40 comes with a special button allows for even more amplification and eliminates background noise and feedback by muting the microphone in the handset. The Adjustable Tone Control lets you adjust the frequency of the incoming voice so that even similar-sounding words, such as “chair” and “share”, are crystal clear and easy to understand. The battery indicator light comes on every time you lift the handset to indicate that the battery level is high enough (battery included). Installing the HA-40 In-Line Handset Amplifier:
- Unplug the handset cord from your telephone base. Insert this plug into the jack at the front of the Handset Amplifier.
- Connect the Handset Amplifier to your telephone base as shown.
- Pick up the handset. If there is a dial tone, you have installed the Handset Amplifier correctly.
Power Requirements:
- The Handset Amplifier is powered by a 9-volt battery (provided). Install a 9-volt battery in the battery compartment before operation.
- Note: Always disconnect HA 30/40 from the telephone before replacing the battery!
